Charter School Accounting
“Not all school boards are willing to take their management company’s word on how money is spent.”
The distinct need of the charter environment has shaped our cadre of financial services. Our method is simple; we implement our proven operating procedures. Provision’s accountants provide an operational framework, finance documents, and industry best practices that lead to outstanding financial operations. We have worked with many public school academies and have successfully assisted our boards to develop, regain, and facilitate financial functions that promote transparency and compliance.
Our most notable successes include the implementation of protocols and services that led to the recovery of over $500,000 and the increase of a fund balance to over $1 Million dollars, also the remediation of a $900,000 judgment against an academy in one academic year. These Boards found fiscal autonomy, ending their relationship with ESPs and traditional ‘full service management’. Provision’s team was essential in gaining compliance and satisfying all items necessary to bring closure to these academies’ ‘Notice of Intent to Revoke’ status.
We take pride in the quality of our work, which has led Michigan’s largest Authorizer to recommend Provision to several challenged academies.
Our accounting duties include, but are not limited to:
- FINANCIAL REPORTING
- FINANCIAL SYSTEMS AND CONTROLS DEVELOPMENT
- BUDGETING
- BUSINESS OFFICE SERVICES
- NOTE BORROWING ASSISTANCE
